as many of you know, I recently moved across the state.
things started out REALLY well!
I had money for my car payment and money leftover to buy groceries and other things I’d need once I moved in.unfortunately, the check I was counting on for July’s rent was severely short. I wasn’t worried about it, though. the company would pay me back once I pointed out the error, right?
wrong. because my hours weren’t logged in the system (I helped out at another store and just wrote the hours for the days I was there on a sticky note,) they are basically telling me “tough luck” and if I DO get any money back, it will take a while to process.
this wouldn’t be a big deal if they had transferred me to the store down here when I asked, but for one reason or another, that isn’t going through at all. after all the effort I had put into this company, never once calling in the entire year I was employed, hardly ever showing up late…this is the thanks I get.
so here’s where I’m at. I have food and my car payment done, but I’m at a loss for how I’ll be able to pay rent or even have gas money to get to my new job (I started Saturday, my first check will only be for one day though.)
I’ve tried every resource and called everyone and every place I could possibly think of. I sold my books, my movies, my purses, my clothes…but I’m still very short. I cannot get emergency rental assistance through the county because I’m not considered a resident of Galveston until I’ve lived here 30 days. my church helps with food, but not rent. any other church that DOES do rental assistance is either eviction notice only or already spent on their budget.
I’m incredibly embarrassed and ashamed I got myself into this situation. asking for help is literally my last resort. if you donate, I will gladly pay you back once I’m on my feet- which will hopefully be soon.
anyway, any amount helps. even if you all only gave 25 cents each, I’d have enough.
thank you so much,
Emmamy best friend in the whole world needs real life help
she’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever talk to and she’s smart and compassionate and creative and genuine and super duper deserving.
if you donate to her, message me and i’ll send you something as a thank you for helping my best friend.
because someone helped me when i really needed it… i don’t know this girl but here’s to spreading the word.
